Designated premier Siegfried Mureșan to submit coalition cabinet and programme to parliament

Designated premier Siegfried Mureșan plans to submit his governing programme and a full ministerial lineup to parliament this Saturday. The proposed cabinet draws from the PNL, USR and UDMR parties and also incorporates independent figures for key posts such as Justice. While most ministries have been allocated, the Justice portfolio is contested: USR accuses UDMR of aligning with PSD to block reforms, whereas UDMR seeks the ministry to gain legislative influence.

Mureșan, together with PNL leader Ilie Bolojan, is mediating the dispute and has suggested an independent justice minister acceptable to all three parties. Even if the compromise holds, the coalition still requires about 50 additional votes to win parliamentary approval.
