Siegfried Mureșan, the designated Prime Minister, addressed Romanians living abroad via Facebook, emphasizing that financial incentives alone will not prompt their return. He argued that the decision to come home depends on the availability of functional hospitals, well-paid employment and a competent state. To facilitate repatriation, his governing program proposes a digital single-window service for administrative formalities, rapid validation of foreign qualifications, assistance in finding jobs or starting businesses, and micro-credit or grant options for investors.
Additional support measures target the children of diaspora families. Mureșan warned that these initiatives are insufficient without comprehensive structural reforms, aiming to transform Romania into a modern, prosperous, just and secure nation that attracts its expatriates.
