Details of Brandon Clarke's fatal overdose scene disclosed by investigators
Investigators found syringes, prescription drugs, Narcan and an unknown white powder at former NBA forward Brandon Clarke's home, where he died from heroin and cocaine overdose.
According to the LA County Medical Examiner’s death report, former Memphis Grizzlies forward Brandon Clarke was found deceased in his San Fernando Valley home on May 11, with investigators documenting a range of drug-related paraphernalia, including syringes, prescription meds, vape devices, cannabis products, injectable peptides and a box of Narcan. A plate holding an unknown white powdery substance and a hotel key card were also recovered from the kitchen island.
The examiner listed heroin and cocaine as the direct causes of death, noting that the combined effects of several prescription medications were contributory, and classified the manner as accidental. Clarke’s roommate disclosed that the 29-year-old had a history of drug use and had previously entered a rehabilitation program. Earlier, Clarke had been arrested in Arkansas after officers reported finding 235.6 grams of kratom in his vehicle, a case that remained pending at the time of his death.
