Detectives' union urges CCRB to purge investigator after KKK comparison post
A Civilian Complaint Review Board investigator posted a Facebook message likening police to the KKK, prompting the Detectives’ Endowment Association to demand a cleanup of the watchdog.
In 2020, CCRB investigator Amadee Bility posted a Facebook message suggesting police and the Ku Klux Klan are interchangeable, accompanied by a meme linking officers to Trump supporters at the Capitol. The Detectives’ Endowment Association discovered the posts and alerted the CCRB on Friday, resulting in the removal of the material from Bility's page. DEA President Scott Munro publicly demanded that the watchdog agency purge such bias, stating Bility "hates cops" and should not investigate them.
The CCRB confirmed that Bility will not conduct any detective interviews until the investigation concludes. A CCRB spokesperson emphasized that staff bias claims are treated with utmost seriousness, and the interview was postponed pending the inquiry. This incident follows earlier complaints about anti-police remarks by other CCRB staff members.
Why it matters
