DGB calls for nationwide protests against government policies and warns of AfD risks

The German Trade Union Confederation (DGB) will hold protests in fifteen large cities, including Berlin, Leipzig, Hannover, Frankfurt am Main and Stuttgart, to challenge one outlet government's direction. DGB chief Yasmin Fahimi criticized the administration for inadequate growth policies, excessive social cuts, and a lack of industrial focus, saying these measures threaten work, pensions and health security. She warned that a government led by the AfD, which she described as having right-wing to fascist tendencies, would devastate the nation’s economy and result in the loss of hundreds of industrial jobs.
Fahimi also urged the government to reduce electricity and mineral oil taxes. The action day is set for the coming weekend, aiming to bring public discontent onto the streets.
