DHS shares Brian Dawkins' iconic entrance to hype immigration crackdown

The Department of Homeland Security used a clip of former Philadelphia Eagles safety Brian Dawkins’ famed “Weapon X” tunnel walkout in a social-media reply to a post about a supposed migrant caravan heading toward the U.S. border. Set to Korn’s “Blind,” the video was captioned, “Our time has come,” implying a forceful response by immigration officials. DHS said it has been tracking a caravan of roughly 600 migrants that departed San Pedro Sula, Honduras, on Sept. 20.

Dawkins, who played for the Eagles from 1996 to 2008, has not issued a statement, and the team did not respond to requests for comment. The agency also did not answer a request for further details. This follows previous instances where the Trump administration’s official accounts used sports and pop-culture clips to promote policy messages.
