DICT Secretary Henry Aguda Confirms He Remains in Post Amid Resignation Rumors
Henry Aguda said he is still serving as secretary of the Department of Information and Communications Technology, rejecting reports that he resigned.
In a video briefing, Palace press officer Claire Castro denied claims that DICT Secretary Henry Aguda had resigned, noting that the administration had not been informed of any such decision. She referenced Presidential Communications Office Secretary Dave Gomez, who also said no resignation had been filed. Aguda released his own statement, affirming his commitment to his responsibilities and to the President's authority over cabinet appointments.
He reiterated his dedication to advancing the department's work for the Filipino public. The rumors emerged following the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center's controversial move to block Discord, citing the platform's refusal to cooperate with local authorities. Aguda, who took office in March 2025 after replacing Ivan Uy, said he remains focused on his role despite the controversy.
