Digital Pinoys urges ride-hailing firms to roll out approved pick-up fare now

Digital rights group Digital Pinoys is pressing transport network companies to activate the authorized pick-up fare without further delay, warning that platform updates could hurt drivers and riders.

The advocacy group called on all ride-hailing platforms to implement the sanctioned pick-up fare immediately, citing a recent interview where inDrive’s country manager admitted the fare system is still under development. While technical tweaks may be required, Digital Pinoys said they should not postpone the rollout. The group highlighted that drivers are already coping with rising operating expenses such as fuel costs, and commuters could face higher charges if the fare remains unimplemented.

Why it matters

Delayed fare implementation could raise costs for drivers and commuters relying on ride-hailing services.
