Digital QR Ticketing Powers Full Attendance at Modi’s Vadodara Event, Thousands Waitlisted
All seats for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Vadodara programme sold out within an hour via BookMyShow, leaving over 42,000 people on a waiting list and using digital QR tickets for venue entry.
In a first-of-its-kind move, the Vadodara Municipal Corporation used the private platform BookMyShow to manage free registrations for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s programme in Vadodara, selling out all seats within an hour and creating a waiting list of over 42,000 hopefuls. Participants will obtain a digital M-Ticket containing a live QR code that serves as both entry pass and seat allocation, enabling fully digital verification at the venue.
The event will see Modi inaugurate three sections of the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor, covering 326 kilometres and costing more than Rs 20,700 crore, and flag off freight trains from Sanand, Makarpura, Umbergaon and JNPT. Additional railway projects spanning 329 km and highway works worth roughly Rs 1,780 crore will also receive foundation stones, alongside state projects valued at about Rs 2,600 crore. After the Vadodara programme, Modi is scheduled to attend the Global Fintech Fest 2026 in Mumbai, focusing on AI, tokenisation and quantum technologies in finance.
