DIICOT conducts raids in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca and Șaru Dornei linked to child pornography case

Prosecutors from DIICOT Târgu Mureș, accompanied by officers of the Târgu Mureș Organized Crime Brigade, performed three domicile searches on Wednesday in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca and the town of Șaru Dornei, Suceava County. The operations are part of a case that focuses on Cristian Pomohaci and four alleged perpetrators, one of whom remains in preventive detention for a separate case. According to the investigation files, between March 2025 and March 2026 the suspects are accused of acquiring, keeping, storing and sharing explicit sexual videos of children aged 4 to 16 through online messaging services and social-media pages.

The raids were supported by special intervention gendarmes from the Târgu Mureș brigade, the mobile gendarmerie group in Cluj-Napoca, and the Suceava county gendarmerie inspectorate. Those questioned are being held at the DIICOT Târgu Mureș office and are afforded all procedural rights and the presumption of innocence.
