Infrastructure firm Dilip Buildcon Ltd announced a ₹15,000 crore investment plan focused on renewable power, transmission lines and pipelines, with roughly ₹6,572 crore earmarked for solar projects in Madhya Pradesh.
Dilip Buildcon Ltd, a Bhopal-headquartered contractor traditionally linked to road building, unveiled a strategic pivot toward energy infrastructure, targeting a total outlay of roughly ₹15,000 crore within the next two to three years. The plan allocates about ₹6,572 crore to develop two solar projects in Madhya Pradesh, together delivering nearly 2 GW of capacity that will help provide daytime electricity for agricultural users and support the state's drinking-water systems.
In addition to solar, the company will invest in power transmission networks and oil-and-gas pipelines, aiming for a lifetime revenue stream of approximately ₹68,000 crore from the new assets. Dilip Suryavanshi, the firm's chairman and managing director, described the shift as “DBL 2.0,” emphasizing a transition to asset-backed, long-term businesses that should account for about 75 % of profits by FY29. The diversification is also expected to create opportunities for suppliers, contractors and service providers linked to the upcoming projects.
