Disney Schedules Ryan Gosling's Ghost Rider for July 2028, Adding Two More Marvel Films

Disney announced that Ryan Gosling's Ghost Rider will debut on July 28, 2028, joining two other Marvel releases slated for the same year.

Disney has set a release date of July 28, 2028 for the upcoming Ghost Rider movie starring Ryan Gosling, making it the third Marvel-related film scheduled for that year. The studio’s slate also includes Black Panther III, slated for December 15, 2028, and an untitled X-Men movie planned for May 5, 2028. These updates were part of a broader schedule revision announced after the D23 fan convention, where Gosling’s involvement was initially revealed at Comic-Con.

The film will be directed by Shawn Levy with a screenplay by Jonathan Tropper, known for his work on Star Wars: The Fighter. Gosling assumes the mantle of the Spirit of Vengeance, a role previously played by Nicolas Cage in two Sony productions. Disney also disclosed dates for several animated projects, such as Pixar’s Ghost Market on March 10, 2028, and the sequel Coco 2 for November 21, 2029.

Why it matters

The new dates shape Disney's blockbuster lineup and signal the studio's strategy for Marvel and animated releases through 2029.
