DNA conducts raids at 54 sites across four northeastern Romanian counties

On a court-ordered operation, the DNA Suceava team searched 54 addresses spread across the counties of Suceava, Botoșani, Iași and Neamț. Targets included the headquarters of several public bodies, residences of private individuals and the facilities of commercial operators. Investigators are examining suspicions that police and customs personnel accepted money to allow individuals to move prohibited goods or excess cargo from Ukraine across the border.
The alleged offenses are said to have occurred over the period from 2023 to 2026. Authorities emphasized that the raids aim to uncover evidence of breaches of official duties by border-related officials. The operation reflects a broader effort to combat corruption within Romania's frontier services.
