Doc Rivers argues his Hall of Fame case belongs alongside Spoelstra and Kerr

Glenn "Doc" Rivers, now out of a coaching role, contended that his career achievements warrant Hall of Fame status alongside Erik Spoelstra and Steve Kerr. He pointed to the 2008 title he secured with the Boston Celtics and noted that his tenures with the Los Angeles Clippers, Philadelphia 76ers and Milwaukee Bucks produced consistently competitive teams, even if they fell short of championships. While acknowledging that some seasons attracted criticism, Rivers emphasized his longevity and steady performance.

He argued that NBA head coaches are seldom honored in the same way as college or Team USA coaches. Rivers concluded that the three should be inducted promptly to elevate the profile of professional basketball coaching.
