Documentary alleges UK concealed Israeli war-crime evidence to keep arms sales

Channel 4’s investigative series Dispatches has aired a documentary that examines how the United Kingdom responded to allegations of Israeli war crimes in Gaza. Journalist Ramita Navai hosts the program, while producer Ben De Pear uses newly disclosed government records to show that officials either ignored or concealed mounting evidence of genocide-like actions after the October 7 attacks. The film argues that this concealment was intended to preserve the UK’s lucrative arms sales to Israel, describing the process as “doctored” and unusually duplicitous.

De Pear, who also produced the BAFTA-winning 2025 documentary Gaza: Doctors Under Attack, points out the contrast between Britain’s self-image as a human-rights champion and its actual conduct. The earlier Gaza documentary was initially commissioned by one outlet but later broadcast by Channel 4. The new film adds to growing scrutiny of the UK’s defence export policies.
