Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman tumbles down Royals' dugout steps in mid-game mishap

During the top of the eighth inning of the Dodgers' 4-2 victory over the Kansas City Royals, first baseman Freddie Freeman attempted to catch a pop-up and lost his sense of where the dugout railing was. The misstep sent him tumbling down the Royals' dugout steps, prompting immediate assistance from both teams' players and trainers. After receiving a standing ovation while climbing back onto the field, Freeman confirmed he did not suffer a head injury but experienced soreness in his knees, shoulder, hand and wrist.

He later left the game, and manager Dave Roberts described the scene as "very scary visually" while noting Freeman's positive attitude. The incident comes as Los Angeles maintains a strong lead in the NL West and prepares for a four-game series against the National League-leading Milwaukee Brewers. No further injuries were reported.
