Dodgers promote top prospect Josue De Paula directly from Double-A to MLB debut

Josue De Paula, the Dodgers' top prospect, was promoted from their Double-A affiliate in Tulsa directly to the major-league roster for the upcoming Miami series, bypassing Triple-A. The 21-year-old has posted a.303 average with 27 home runs, 104 RBIs and 31 steals this season, showcasing both power and on-base skills. His promotion follows Shohei Ohtani’s placement on the injured list, creating a vacancy in the lineup.

Dodgers general manager Brandon Gomes highlighted De Paula’s growth into a "complete hitter" after mechanical adjustments and improved approach at the plate. Manager Dave Roberts expects De Paula to see regular DH duties as the club navigates Ohtani’s absence. The move also marks the first direct Double-A to MLB call-up under president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman.
