Dodo Pizza confirms cyberattack that may have exposed millions of customer records
Dodo Pizza reported a hacking incident on September 27-28 that could have compromised personal data of its customers, though payment information was not stored.
During September 27 and 28, Dodo Pizza’s information technology infrastructure was infiltrated by hackers, according to a statement from the company. The breach may have allowed access to personal identifiers such as names, mailing addresses, telephone numbers, email addresses, dates of birth and detailed order histories. The chain, which operates more than 1,527 outlets in Russia and 27 other nations, says it does not retain payment card data, so financial details remain secure.
Authorities at Roskomnadzor have been notified, and the intruders have been prevented from further entry while an internal audit proceeds. A Telegram channel identified as Baza, reportedly close to Russian security services, alleged that data belonging to 68 million customers was taken, covering fifteen years of purchase records. Dodo Pizza is working to assess the full scope of the incident and inform affected users.
