Dog Treat Founder Pushes Whole-Food Nutrition for Pets and Kids
Sarah Goldberger, CEO of organic dog-treat brand Lord Jameson, says her preservative-free snacks align with the Make America Healthy Again initiative and even eats them herself.
Founder and CEO Sarah Goldberger created Lord Jameson in 2019 to fill a gap she saw for healthier canine snacks after her late dog, Jameson, suffered medication-induced toxicity. The New York-based company uses only organic, gluten-free ingredients without artificial colors, flavors or preservatives, achieving an 18-month shelf life through vertically integrated production in Boulder, Colorado. Goldberger ties the brand’s clean-food approach to the Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) initiative, which promotes whole, nutrient-dense diets and reduced refined carbs and additives.
She hopes the model will inspire other pet manufacturers to improve dog health, noting positive effects on digestion and suitability for conditions like colitis and diabetes. Lord Jameson’s products are available at roughly 5,500 independent pet stores, select grocery outlets, and in four foreign markets, and Goldberger even eats the treats herself and packs them for her kids.
