Dollar climbs and euro slips as ECB implements expected rate hike
The U.S. dollar gained against major currencies on Thursday while the euro fell after the European Central Bank delivered a planned interest-rate increase.
Following the European Central Bank's second rate rise of the year, the euro weakened to $1.1599, down 0.28 %. Meanwhile, the dollar rose 0.34 % in the dollar index and strengthened against the Swiss franc by 0.42 %. The move reverses some of the dollar's recent losses that were linked to higher oil prices and rising global bond yields.
