Dolly Parton calls off Dollywood celebration because of dehydration
The 80-year-old singer cancelled a planned event at her Tennessee park after her doctor warned her she was dehydrated.
Dolly Parton, now 80, was set to celebrate the new NightFlight Expedition attraction at Dollywood on Aug. 14, but she cancelled the event after becoming dehydrated. She posted a video stating that her Nashville doctor instructed her not to travel that week, prompting her to stay home. This follows a series of recent health setbacks, such as pulling out of a Las Vegas residency after feeling “swimmy headed” and limiting public appearances to a ribbon-cutting ceremony in June.
Parton’s husband of 60 years, Carl Dean, died in March 2025, and she has not toured since her 2016 Pure & Simple Tour. Despite these challenges, she continues to make occasional appearances at Dollywood and other venues.
