Domino's rolls out single-serve Detroit-style pizza called the Domino
Domino's will add a one-person Detroit-style pizza, the Domino, to its menu nationwide on Aug. 31, letting diners pick sauce and up to three toppings.
Domino's disclosed that a personal-size Detroit-style pizza named the Domino will launch across its U.S. restaurants on Aug. 31. Designed to resemble the chain’s red-and-blue logo, the pizza is split into two slices and permits shoppers to select their own sauce and up to three toppings, catering to groups with varied preferences and to solo diners. The offering features the company’s buttery pan dough with Parmesan baked into the crust, two layers of cheese and a finishing garlic seasoning.
Joe Jordan, the chief operating officer and president of Domino's U.S. and incoming CEO, said the item fills a gap in the menu for individualized orders. The Domino will be included in the Mix and Match promotion at $6.99 for a two-topping version, though some locations may price it higher. Domino's cited independent testing that ranked the pizza among its most delicious products, but provided no specifics on the methodology.
Why it matters
The launch gives customers a customizable, single-serve pizza option, expanding Domino's menu flexibility.
