Domino’s sales growth slows after World Cup surge, chicken line stays strong
Domino’s reported a 2.3% sales increase for the quarter ending September, down from earlier growth, while its new chicken range continues to receive positive feedback.
Domino’s Pizza saw its sales growth ease to 2.3% in the quarter ending September, after posting higher percentages in the two prior quarters. The company noted an initial lift from the World Cup, but the momentum did not sustain throughout the period. Revenue for the first half of the year reached £354 million, helped by the tournament and the launch of a fried-chicken-style menu.
Order growth fell to 1.5% in the most recent quarter, indicating fewer customers choosing Domino’s. The chicken-focused ‘chick’n’dip’ range continues to attract favourable customer feedback and strong advocacy. CEO Nicola Frampton said the firm remains on track to achieve its earnings goals and is building foundations for growth beyond 2027.
Why it matters
Domino’s slowdown highlights how seasonal events can temporarily boost sales, while new product lines may sustain longer-term growth.
