Donald Trump Jr.-backed Unusual Machines and US investor pour $10 million into Canadian drone firm Draganfly
Unusual Machines, linked to Donald Trump Jr., and a US asset manager each put $5 million into Canadian drone maker Draganfly, totaling $10 million.
On September 28, Unusual Machines—where Donald Trump Jr. serves on the advisory board—and an unnamed US asset management company each committed $5 million to Canadian unmanned-aircraft producer Draganfly, bringing the total investment to $10 million. Draganfly said the funds will accelerate development of advanced strategic capabilities and support general working-capital needs. The company, known for drones used in defense, public safety, agriculture and industrial inspection, has supplied systems to Ukraine for mapping and humanitarian tasks.
Earlier this year the firm raised $50 million through a share offering to fund growth and development. The new investment is based on a closing share price of $5.35 on September 25 and is expected to finalize by the end of the month. Draganfly’s New York-listed shares have dropped about 23 % this year, contrasting with an 89 % surge in Unusual Machines’ stock.
