Donatella Versace to launch new fashion line one year after stepping down from namesake brand
Donatella Versace has a new house to build.
Donatella Versace has a new house to build. The Italian designer announced Monday that she has partnered with Revolve Group on an independent beauty and fashion brand set to launch next year. Donatella, 71, will lead the yet-to-be-named label as chief creative officer, per the release, with beauty expected to be the first category to roll out.
The tie-up arrives roughly 18 months after Donatella exited her family’s namesake house in March 2025, closing out a run of almost 30 years leading the Italian brand her late brother Gianni founded. At the time, industry sources told Page Six that Donatella’s contract with then-owner Capri Holdings prohibited her from putting the Versace name on other labels or designing apparel elsewhere.
Why it matters
The venture marks a major designer re-entering the market, potentially reshaping luxury fashion and beauty sectors.
