DoorDash launches its first Indian hub in Hyderabad, targeting 3,000 staff
DoorDash has opened a new office in Hyderabad’s Hitec City with 500 employees and plans to expand to over 3,000 workers within two years.
DoorDash, a leading local commerce platform, opened its first office in India at the Hitec City technology park in Hyderabad, starting with a team of 500 professionals. The centre will host Customer Experience and Integrity functions as well as general and administrative staff, all aimed at bolstering DoorDash’s worldwide operations that reach over 56 million active consumers across more than 40 countries. The company intends to increase the Hyderabad headcount to more than 3,000 within the next two years, adding specialized fraud-review and technical capabilities over time.
Telangana’s IT minister praised the decision as validation of Hyderabad’s evolution into a global talent hub, while DoorDash’s senior director highlighted the city’s strong tech ecosystem as a key factor. The expansion adds to Hyderabad’s growing roster of global capability centres, which the state hopes will generate hundreds of thousands of direct and indirect jobs.
