Doorman allegedly handed keys to intruder who lounged in NYC couple's apartment

While away on vacation, Bill and Yelim Kim received an alert from their home-security system indicating activity in their upscale Long Island City apartment. The live feed revealed a woman making herself at home, drinking and relaxing on their couch, then ripping the camera off the bookshelf when she saw it watching. A nearby resident knocked on the door; the woman opened it, offered a brief apology, and escaped before police could intervene.

Management later emailed tenants stating the woman claimed to be the couple’s dogwalker and was granted entry by a doorman, who has now been removed and additional security measures installed. The same individual attempted to re-enter two days later but was turned away. The NYPD is treating the incident as a burglary, though no charges have been filed.
