DPK co-founder blames Orbán Viktor, not the right, for election loss

Isky Annamária, co-founder of the Women’s Digital Civic Circle, said the recent election was lost because of Orbán Viktor, not the right-wing bloc.

Isky Annamária, who helped found the Women’s Digital Civic Circle (DPK), posted a video asserting that the recent election was not lost by the right-wing but by Orbán Viktor himself. She explained that the right-wing remained present, but voters rejected a system that prized loyalty over expertise, turning criticism into betrayal. In the same clip she denounced the NER structure and suggested that the right-wing is now free to choose its future direction.

The video provoked strong reactions, including a comment from Fidesz parliamentarian Pócs János who called her statement treason. Isky is married to former energy state secretary Steiner Attila, who ran against Magyar Péter in Budapest’s XII. district and suffered a major defeat for the ruling party.

Why it matters

The remarks highlight internal dissent within Hungary’s right-wing and could influence future political dynamics.
