DPWH Secretary Vince Dizon testifies on flawed P289-million Sunwest road project
Public Works and Highways Secretary Vince Dizon appeared in the Sandiganbayan to discuss the Sunwest road-dike project accused of graft involving former Rep. Zaldy Co.
During a hearing at the Sandiganbayan, DPWH chief Vince Dizon recounted his September inspection of the Sunwest project in Naujan, Oriental Mindoro. He said the road dike was built with a three-meter steel sheet pile, far short of the twelve-meter standard required by law. Prosecutors allege the P289.4-million contract was marred by serious structural deficiencies and corruption. The case targets former Ako Bicol representative Zaldy Co and his co-accused.
