DraftKings and FanDuel Secure New NFL Betting Partnerships After Pricing Dispute
DraftKings and FanDuel have renewed their contracts with the NFL, joining Fanatics as official betting operators and regaining access to live data and ad slots.
After a brief standoff over increased costs from Genius Sports, DraftKings and FanDuel have signed new deals with the NFL, confirming their status as two of the league's three official betting partners alongside Fanatics. The contracts grant the sportsbooks permission to run ads during broadcasts and to tap the league's live data feed, which underpins real-time betting markets. The earlier pricing dispute centered on Genius Sports' higher charges for in-app livestream rights, a feature that had been standard under previous agreements.
Fanatics, having already locked in the third operator slot by replacing Caesars, did not face the same hurdle. While the monetary specifics of the new arrangements remain private, the NFL previously earned about $200 million from the trio of operators. Ad frequency will stay capped at roughly one commercial per quarter of play, slightly fewer than beverage ads. NFL chief revenue officer Renie Anderson reiterated that the league is not pursuing prediction-market products at this time.
Why it matters
The renewed deals keep major sportsbooks tied to NFL betting, affecting advertising revenue and live-betting options for fans.
