Dream clinch overtime win to move within one game of WNBA Finals

Atlanta defeated New York 101-98 in overtime, pulling within one win of a Finals berth after Naz Hillmon’s late layup.

Atlanta’s Dream secured a 101-98 overtime victory over the New York Liberty, moving to a 2-0 advantage in the semifinals and positioning themselves one win away from the WNBA Finals for the first time since 2013. Naz Hillmon delivered the decisive layup with just over 20 seconds left in overtime. Angel Reese, the 2026 Defensive Player of the Year, contributed 23 points, including six of the team’s 13 overtime points, and sank two free throws in the closing seconds.

Jordin Canada also tallied 23 points and recorded eight assists, while Breanna Stewart led New York with 35 points despite a missed final shot. The Dream were without Allisha Gray, sidelined by a hand injury, yet received significant scoring support from the bench. The next game shifts to New York’s Barclays Center on Friday.
