DreamWorks unveils 'Forgotten Island' soundtrack featuring SB19, BINI and Lea Salonga

DreamWorks Animation announced that the complete soundtrack for its new movie 'Forgotten Island' will be available on September 18, ahead of the film’s September 25 release. The album features lead vocalists H.E.R. and Liza Soberano, who voice the protagonists Jo and Raissa, as well as contributions from Filipino pop groups SB19 and BINI and acclaimed singer Lea Salonga. Composer Nathan Matthew David crafted the score using analog synths reminiscent of the 1980s, while also incorporating indigenous Filipino instruments such as the gandingan and a bamboo pipe organ.

A notable inclusion is a re-imagined version of INXS’s 'Never Tear Us Apart' sung by Sophia Laforteza of Katseye, and a cover of Francis M.’s 'Mga Kababayan' by SB19. Additional songs are performed by Ruby Ibarra, Carl Angelo, Guapdad 4000 and others, creating a blend of modern pop, hip-hop and traditional sounds that reflect the film’s magical, Filipino-inspired setting.
