Driver arrested after crash kills two and injures four in Doncaster

On Sunday morning, a black Mitsubishi L200 driven by a 30-year-old man collided with a crowd of pedestrians on White Rose Way in Doncaster, then struck a black Audi and a silver BMW traveling in the opposite direction. The impact resulted in two fatalities and four serious, non-life-threatening injuries, prompting an air ambulance to attend the scene. South Yorkshire Police arrived, arrested the driver on suspicion of two counts of causing death by dangerous driving, two counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, and driving while unfit.
He has been released on bail while inquiries continue. Police are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or captured dash-cam footage to come forward. The investigation remains ongoing.
