Driver flees after striking woman dead on Frankston-Flinders Road
A woman was killed early Tuesday on Frankston-Flinders Road in Frankston South, and the driver of a dark SUV fled the scene.
Around 5.30 am on Tuesday, emergency services were called to Frankston-Flinders Road near Highland Drive in Frankston South after a vehicle struck a pedestrian. The woman, not yet publicly identified, was pronounced dead at the scene. Police believe the vehicle was a dark-coloured SUV that accelerated away, later seen travelling west along the same road.
A crime scene has been established, and officials warn that traffic may be affected for an extended period. The investigation into the circumstances remains ongoing.
