Drone strike hits vessel near Neptun Deep platform, one dead and one missing

A vessel called Royad Mammadov was struck by a drone near the Neptun Deep offshore platform on Monday, killing one crew member and leaving another missing among the 13 aboard.

The Romanian-registered ship Royad Mammadov was hit by an unmanned aerial vehicle close to the Neptun Deep platform operated by OMV Petrom and Romgaz. Thirteen people were on board; one has died and another is unaccounted for. Rescue teams from ARSVOM, SAR Artemis and SAR Apollo were dispatched. The incident occurred while President Nicușor Dan was meeting a delegation from OMV Petrom at the Cotroceni Palace. The vessel had departed from the Ukrainian port of Ismail.
