Drone strike in Voronezh kills one, sparks fires at large warehouses
A drone hit in Russia's Voronezh region caused one death, injured two people and ignited fires at two sizable warehouse sites.
Alexander Gusev, the governor of Russia's Voronezh region, said a drone attack during the night killed one person and wounded two others. Air-defence units intercepted a total of 20 drones—15 over the city of Voronezh and five across the region. Debris from the downed drone sparked fires at two large warehouses, one burning over an area of about 16,000 square metres and the other spreading across roughly 20,000 square metres.
Firefighters have been deployed to control both incidents. The company that owns the warehouses was not named, but Wildberries, a major Russian online retailer, announced that its logistics sites in the area were evacuated for safety. Authorities continue to assess damage and investigate the source of the drones.
