Drone strikes hit Sumy shopping centre and Kyiv residential districts, causing casualties and fires

A drone struck a shopping centre in Sumy, where three people were reported killed and two injured, and rescue crews began clearing the site and treating the wounded, with images of the damage posted on Telegram by Governor Oleh Hryhorov. In Kyiv, drones hit residential blocks in the Darnytskyi and Dniprovskyi districts, igniting a fire on the 12th floor of a 24‑storey building and another blaze in a nearby warehouse; Mayor Vitali Klitschko said nine people were injured.

The Kyiv attacks prompted an air‑raid alert that lasted more than six hours and were recorded at 31 locations across the wider oblast, including homes and industrial facilities. The incidents follow a brief lull after a visit by U.S. envoys.
