Drones launched from Iran aimed at Kurdistan regional prime minister's office
Two drones were dispatched from Iranian territory toward the Kurdistan Regional Government's prime minister office in northern Iraq, with no casualties reported.
According to the Kurdistan Regional Government's security agency, two unmanned aerial vehicles launched from Iranian soil were aimed at the office of the KRG prime minister and the home of the Security and Intelligence Agency chief in northern Iraq. The Kurdistan Counter Terrorism Unit investigated the incident, which resulted in no reported injuries or fatalities. Prime Minister Masrour Barzani denounced the action on X, calling it a reckless escalation that endangers the region's security.
While Iran and Iran-backed militias have previously accused the Kurdish region of sheltering opposition groups, Iraqi Kurdish officials deny any such use of their territory. No organization has stepped forward to claim the attack.
