Drunk driver crashes into parked car in Daytona Beach, assaults owner and resists arrest

Daytona Beach police reported that Elizabeth Boucher, 24, was driving a Ford Bronco through a roundabout when she slammed into a parked Honda on Aug. 30, sending glass and debris across the front yard. The vehicle’s impact forced the smaller car onto the lawn, after which the owner ran out and was struck by Boucher, who then engaged in a physical altercation with the woman. Boucher later followed the victim to her front door and was shoved again before officers intervened.

At the scene, Boucher showed signs of intoxication, gave a passport instead of a driver’s license, and refused a sobriety test, prompting charges for DUI, property damage, assault, possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, and resisting arrest. She was booked, released the next day, and is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 21.
