Drunk motorcyclist crashes into marathon runners on Kuala Lumpur road

A 21-year-old motorcyclist rode through a closed road, went against traffic and hit two participants in the Kuala Lumpur Standard Chartered Marathon, testing positive for alcohol.

Early this morning on Jalan Munshi Abdullah, a motorcyclist who ignored a road closure and rode in the wrong direction collided with two runners in the Kuala Lumpur Standard Chartered Marathon. The rider, 21, was later found to have an Evidential Breath Analyser reading of 164 mg per 100 ml, indicating alcohol consumption. Assistant Commissioner Mohd Zamzuri Mohd Isa of the Kuala Lumpur Traffic Enforcement and Investigation Department confirmed the incident occurred around 6.15 am.
