Dublin couple charged with perjury in case linked to Conor McGregor appeal
A man and woman from Dublin have been arrested and charged with perjury after providing disputed evidence in Nikita Hand’s civil case against Conor McGregor.
Two Dublin residents, a man and a woman, have been taken into custody and charged with perjury after submitting fresh evidence in the civil lawsuit filed by Nikita Hand against Conor McGregor. The evidence, which the couple claimed showed Hand being assaulted at her home shortly after an alleged rape at the Beacon Hotel in 2018, was voluntarily offered and later described by Hand as false. Hand’s original case resulted in a High Court jury awarding her €250,000 in damages, prompting McGregor to appeal.
The appeal was set for July 2025, but the new testimony was withdrawn and the matter was sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions for review. Following the DPP’s direction, the National Bureau of Criminal Investigation and the Garda’s serious crimes unit arrested the couple, who will appear before Dublin District Court.
