A video purportedly showing Dumri legislator Jairam Mahto using offensive language during a WhatsApp call with the Barwadda police officer has gone viral, prompting an FIR against him and nine others.

A video that appears to capture Dumri MLA Jairam Mahto hurling abusive remarks during a WhatsApp conversation with the officer-in-charge of Barwadda police station has circulated widely online, igniting debate in the Dhanbad region. Police sources say the conversation was recorded by the station officer on another device before being posted publicly, though officials have not confirmed its veracity. The incident followed a prior clash between the MLA and a village head’s representative, which escalated when Mahto arrived at the police station accompanied by supporters and challenged the police’s handling of the matter.

Witnesses reported a sizable crowd gathering at the station, with some people allegedly breaching the premises and creating disorder.
