Duqm Refinery exceeds design capacity, hitting 255,000 bpd in 2026

The Duqm Refinery, a flagship Omani-Kuwaiti partnership, recorded production of about 255,000 barrels per day in 2026, exceeding its 230,000-bpd design by roughly 10 percent. Abdullah Al-Ajmi said the refinery’s efficiency, strategic positioning and access to global markets underpin its role as a key industrial asset. He cited 2025 revenues of approximately $7 billion and detailed product outputs, including 115,400 barrels of diesel, 38,500 barrels of jet fuel, 61,100 barrels of naphtha and 800 metric tonnes of LPG per day.

The plant also generates 2,200 metric tonnes of petroleum coke and 500 metric tonnes of sulphur daily, demonstrating flexibility to meet worldwide demand. In occupational health and safety, the refinery earned a gold award from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents, reflecting its commitment to a loss-time-injury-free workplace. Al-Ajmi affirmed that the venture continues to add sustainable value for both Oman and Kuwait while strengthening its presence in global energy markets.
