Dyfed-Powys Police confirmed that a cyber-attack was discovered on 14 September, leading to disruption of some non-emergency digital services while emergency operations remained fully functional. Online and email contact points were offline for a period but have since been restored, and the 999 and 101 emergency lines were unaffected. The force stated that no public personal data appears to have been accessed, though it continues to examine whether employee information may have been compromised.
The incident has been reported to the Information Commissioner’s Office, and specialist cyber-security teams are providing support and implementing precautionary steps as the investigation proceeds. No evidence of public data breach has been found to date.
