Dystany Spurlock aims to qualify for Richmond Truck Series race with Team Reaume

Dystany Spurlock returns to NASCAR this weekend, targeting a place in the Friday night Craftsman Truck Series event at Richmond Raceway in the No. 2 Ford fielded by Team Reaume. The 34-year-old, a Virginia native who grew up near the track, must finish within the top 36 trucks in qualifying to start the race. Earlier in the season she became the first Black woman to compete in one of NASCAR's three national touring series, and she has posted six top-15 results in eight ARCA Menards Series outings, highlighted by a seventh-place finish at Hickory.

Spurlock’s background includes a successful motorcycle career, winning the DME Racing Real Street class and debuting in NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle. She is supported by Detroit-based experiential media firm Foxxtecca and has previously driven for MBM Motorsports. Team owner Josh Reaume expressed enthusiasm about giving Spurlock a chance to race before her hometown fans.
