EA Announces Turn-Based Star Wars Tactics Game Inspired by AMC’s ‘Turn’

Electronic Arts revealed that its new single-player Star Wars title, ‘Zero Company’, will launch on Aug. 27 and blends turn-based tactics with a narrative drawn from the Clone Wars era.

EA’s upcoming Star Wars experience, titled ‘Zero Company’, is set for release on Aug. 27 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Bit Reactor’s Greg Foertsch explained that the game’s protagonist, Hawks, can be fully personalized, with male and female voice packs provided by Jonathan Freeman and Erica Luttrell. Players command a mixed squad that includes a Clone Trooper, a Mandalorian and a Jedi Padawn, pursuing the antagonist Kundri Fathom, portrayed by Rekha Sharma.

Lucasfilm Games executive producer Orion Kellogg emphasized an authentic story that uses well-known figures like Anakin Skywalker, voiced by Matt Lanter, only peripherally. The narrative approach was inspired by the AMC series ‘Turn’, aiming to blend familiar historical backdrops with fresh character dynamics. The title adopts XCOM-style turn-based combat while striving to make the mechanics approachable through integrated storytelling.

Why it matters

The launch adds a new genre to the Star Wars gaming portfolio, appealing to both franchise fans and strategy gamers.
