EasyJet pilots plan two-day walkout over erratic schedules
Pilots at EasyJet announced a strike for Sunday and Monday, citing constantly changing rosters that disrupt their personal lives.
The SNPL disclosed that EasyJet pilots will strike on Sunday and the next day, demanding more predictable work schedules. According to the union, pilots regularly receive roster changes multiple times a week, sometimes as many as ten adjustments the day before a flight. This volatility makes it impossible for crew members to arrange personal affairs, leading to growing frustration and chronic fatigue.
The union warns that prolonged stress may create psychosocial risks and impair pilots' performance. An ex-HR director from EasyJet reportedly said the scheduling chaos could even strain personal relationships. The union suggests that a concrete commitment to stable planning could avert the strike, but the airline has not indicated willingness to change its approach.
