EcoFlow unveils compact 5kWh home battery for UK solar households

EcoFlow has rolled out the STREAM Series in the United Kingdom, starting with the STREAM 5000 home battery that stores up to 5 kWh of solar electricity. Weighing 45 kg and roughly the size of a cabin bag, the unit can deliver 3 kW of AC power and accept 5 kW of solar input through four MPPT chargers, enough for appliances such as washing machines and dishwashers. The design is marketed as up to 40% smaller than competing products, allowing placement in garages or utility rooms, and it can be linked to a larger system via the EcoFlow STREAM Gateway for future expansion to EV charging or heat-pump loads.

Installation must be performed by a certified electrician, and the battery includes IP65 weather rating, a 15-year lifespan, up to 10 000 charge cycles, and a 10-year warranty. A forthcoming Local Mode will keep the system operational without internet connectivity. Early-bird pricing is set at £1,599 for the STREAM 5000 and £1,499 for the STREAM AC 5000, available until October 6.
