Education Minister pledges RM69 billion budget to boost schools and teachers

Education Minister Datuk Seri Fadhlina Sidek said the RM69 billion allocated in the 2027 Budget will be used to improve facilities and support under-resourced schools.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced that the education ministry will obtain the largest share of the 2027 Budget, close to RM69 billion, up from RM66.2 billion. The allocation includes a rise in school repair and maintenance spending to RM2 billion, double the previous amount. Education Minister Datuk Seri Fadhlina Sidek said the sizeable budget brings a responsibility to ensure every ringgit benefits children, schools and teachers, especially those in greatest need.

She outlined priorities such as upgrading facilities, supporting under-resourced schools and enhancing learning quality. Fadhlina expressed gratitude to the prime minister and pledged diligent use of the funds to deliver tangible outcomes across the nation’s education system.
