Eight locations in Sarawak report unhealthy air quality amid regional haze

According to the latest data from the Air Pollutant Index Management System, eight Sarawak locations reported API scores in the unhealthy bracket early this morning, the highest being 168 in both Kuching and Serian. Samarahan (163), Sri Aman (161), Sibu (160), Sarikei (152), Bintulu (151) and Kapit (126) also exceeded the 100 threshold. In neighboring states, Seri Manjung in Perak logged 164, while Kuala Lumpur's Batu Muda and Cheras recorded 156 and 155 respectively.

Selangor's Shah Alam and Petaling Jaya posted 156 and 151, and other towns across Negri Sembilan, Johor, Sabah and Melaka showed similar or moderate levels. Overall, 37 stations measured moderate air quality and 10 reported good conditions, using the API scale where 0-50 is good, 51-100 moderate, and 101-200 unhealthy.
